The Secret of Our Success
To the Honored Alumni of Texas Wesleyan University School of Law:
What is the secret of your success? For me, it’s my faith in God. Whatever yours may be, I ’m sure if we could share our answers to that question, the conversations would be fascinating and our answers diverse. Yet, for all of us, there is one success secret that we share in common: being an honored graduate of Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. Truly, the Law School has created tremendous opportunities for us all.
Think for a moment of the many ways that your lives have been enriched and doors of opportunity opened because you are a Texas Wesleyan School of Law graduate. Three years ago, I considered my answer to this question, and made the choice to give back to the School by serving on the Alumni Board. Now, I am honored to serve as your President.
What do we want for our association over the next two years? Should we plan for the next five years? What about the next twenty years? Today I am announcing a long-range plan for our Association, known as our “20-20 Vision.” Simply stated, 20-20 Vision will be our road map for where we are going and what we hope to achieve for our Association over the 12-year period beginning in the year 2009 and carrying us through 2020.
Think of the opportunities that can be created and the successes that we will accomplish as a cohesive Association with a purpose defined by 20-20 Vision. I foresee tremendous achievement and growth that will lead to the perpetual advancement of our Association.
Development of 20-20 Vision will begin with the Alumni Board meeting with a professional facilitator hired to collect ideas and form a framework for this vision. Your Board needs your input, so please give us your feedback. You can contact any Board member or go directly to Khayan Williams, who is chairing the 20-20 Vision committee. You can also contact us through the Alumni website, but please do share your ideas.
I hope you’ll find time to make it to one of our many socials, as these provide a great chance for your Board to hear directly from you. Also, mark your calendar now to attend our 2008 Annual Event, where the 20-20 Vision development committee will meet with you and hear your ideas. It is April 18-19, 2008.
I envision 20-20 Vision to be our collective secret to the future success of our Alumni Association. Don’t just imagine the possibilities but get involved and be a part of this historic happening. For the betterment of our great School, us as Alum and those who will be added to our numbers, I urge your participation.
Best regards,
