Last year, only 2% of our alumni gave to the Wesleyan Law School Annual Fund. This year, our alumni board of directors have initiated an online class agent challenge with a two part goal: 1.to increase alumni giving percentages and 2. to raise $10,000 in 2 months to match Dean Frederic White’s $10,000 lead gift to the Annual Fund. To date, we have an alumni giving percentage of 1.7. We need your help! With your support, we can, not only, achieve these goals, but exceed them.
The Texas Wesleyan Law Alumni Challenge is an opportunity for Texas Wesleyan law graduates as individuals, firms or corporations to increase the school’s Annual Fund giving percentages in a fun and exciting way. Led by representatives from various classes, alumni are encouraged and inspired to join together and meet the goals outlined above.
Please pay attention to the Wesleyan Law School Annual Fund materials you will receive from our Class Agents in the upcoming months. The alumni class challenge ends on December 15th. The class with the greatest percentage of giving (must be 50% or more) will be recognized with a plaque to be displayed in the law school and will receive free admission to the Alumni Annual Weekend Activities on Saturday, April 18th, 2009!
Remember, the amount you give doesn’t matter, it is your participation that counts. A high giving rate shows firms, foundations, and prospective students that alumni believe in the school. Not to mention, a high participation rate is one criterion U.S. News & World Report uses in its law school rankings. By participating, you are not only helping current and future students, you are also increasing the value of your own degree.
